NO SECOND CHANCE

No Second Chance
1976, Polydor (Europe). Janus (USA).
Recorded / Mixed: Aug-Sept 1976 at Trident Studios, London UK.
Producer: Terry Thomas and John Anderson.
Line-up: Terry Thomas/ John Anderson/ Martin Smith/ Steve Gadd / Julian Colbeck.

After the first album we looked to the US for a producer (Bill Szmczyk/Gary Katz) so we did 7 demos in a day to send out to them. They never got them - that would have involved parting with money so the production company informed us that Terry was the producer as he had done such a good job on the demos.

We started recording and after a week or so Martin Smith left to join another band. Julian Colbeck came in as a session player (first track he recorded was Turning To You) and we all got on so well that he was asked to join. We ended up using two of the demos on the album - Don't Look Back and Love Is Alright.

Memories: engineer Peter Kelsey teaching us how to do multitrack vocals a la Queen - thus starting the "Charlie Sound'.
