Fantasy Girls
Recorded / Mixed: June 1975 at Trident Studios, London UK.
Producer: Mike Stone.
Line-up: Terry Thomas/ John Anderson/ Martin Smith/ Steve Gadd.
At the time of recording we all still had 'proper' jobs and so had to take a weeks vacation for the recording. We turned up at the studio expecting to meet Roy Thomas Baker (Queen’s producer) who had been proposed as our producer. He was suddenly unavailable so we worked with 19 year old Mike Stone, who was Queen’s studio engineer. This was Mike’s first production and we had a lot of fun making this record.
Memories: Steve Gadd giving up cigarettes in favour of small cigars and ending up smoking 20 cigars a day.
The album was mixed in a week involving late, late nights. The album disappointed us sonically but it was a great experience to have recorded in the same studio that the Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, and many others had used.
